What is your background and interests with blacksmithing?
I have no experience with black smithing. I was invited to a meeting by my friend Jim at Mr. Danny Hardin's in Springfield and enjoyed what little time I was able to observe. I did make a spoon out of a horse shoe nail. Pretty cool. me and my sons are interested learning how to work with metal and making tools and blade crafting.
James, to fix that anvil right will cost a bunch of $$$$$, at least $300 and thats just materials. I was gonna buy that anvil, if no one else did, for a project anvil, to sell later on. I'll be happy to help you "restore" it if you want to spend the $$$$$ on the welding rods. It doesnt have to be a one or 2 day project. The welding of the heel needs to be, but the hardfacing and clean-up can be spaced out.
