The Village Blacksmith by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The Village Blacksmith

Under a spreading chestnut-tree

The village smithy stands;

The smith, a mighty man is he,

With large and sinewy hands;

And the muscles of his brawny arms

Are strong as iron bands.

His hair is crisp, and black, and long,

His face is like the tan;

His brow is wet with honest sweat,

He earns whate'er he can,

And looks the whole world in the face,…

How to Protect Your Ironwork

How to Protect Your Ironwork

By Doug Bracken

What are the traditional options for finishing fine metalwork?

What follows are the six most common formulas for the wax or oil or wax/oil finish ingredients and methods for application. There are of course many others, some of them more mystical or dangerous, but the foundation for good oil/wax finishes is…

Coal Supply

I have looked over some of the more recent posts and did not find anything on local coal suppliers, if this post is redundant I apologize. Most of the local suppliers I have used in the past have stopped carrying coal, so any help would be appreciated. I don't mind going north to pick up coal, but I only use a few hundred pounds per year so the time involved is tough to…

December Monthly Meeting at Keller's Flea Market

December 16, 2017 from 9am to 12pm
Members, at December's meeting we will be having a White Elephant gift exchange. How it works is rather simple. Everyone coming to the meeting brings a wrapped gift. Those gifts are all placed in one area together. We will draw numbers and whomever has number 1 will go first. When it’s time for the actual opening, the first person chooses the gift they would most like. However, the next person can either choose a gift from the table or steal the gift from the individual before. This continues…See More
